The Cherokee Nation stands at a crossroads. We can either take control of our future, or we can remain dependent on outside forces that have failed us time and time again. Our sovereignty is not just a legal status—it is a responsibility. And if we do not take bold action now, we risk losing what generations before us fought to protect.
Sovereignty is not just a word—it’s action. And right now, we are too dependent on a federal government that has failed us over and over again. When Washington freezes funding, Cherokee healthcare suffers. When budgets are cut, our people lose essential services. But here’s the truth: If we don’t build our own economy, we don’t control our future.
Many at-large citizens do not live near an IHS facility and struggle to receive the same level of healthcare that Cherokees in Oklahoma can access. We need real solutions that bring Cherokee healthcare services to ALL Cherokees, no matter where they reside.
